Rutkowski Signs with Senators

The Ottawa Senators made it official today, when they signed Portland's Captain; overage Defenseman Troy Rutkowski to a 3 year entry level deal.

Rutkowski was drafted in the 5th round of the 2010 draft by the Colorado Avalanche, but became a free agent last year when the Avs chose not to sign him.

Troy, signed one week after Taylor Peters inked a deal with the Dallas Stars, is having his best offensive season to date with 20 goals and 41 assists. He has had at least 45 points in 4 of his 5 seasons in junior hockey.

Rutkowski set the team record for games played when he reached 327 in January. He currently is sitting at 348 games played including 237 games in a row. He missed one game over the last 4 years and that was to attend a pro prospect game.
