Friday News and Links

The Hawks and Blazers get going tonight at the Memorial Coliseum and there has been increasing interest across Canada about this rematch from last year's epic series.

-One note on this: it has been witnessed time and time again that someone who was an Assistant Coach on a team, struggles when given the reins of the same team. Because, generally the Assitant Coach is more a player's coach and attmepts to befriend the players. Thus, when he tries to take over the job, the players have a hard tiem respecting the sudden change. What Green has done this season, is all that more impressive because of this.

-Ty Rattie, is a jokester away from the rink and a driven, focused player with fire in his eyes with the puck on the stick, according to Paul Buker.
-Buzzing the Net's: Western Conference Final preview has the Hawk's winning a close one.
-Calgary surprised Edmonton last night in Game 1 with a 3-2 OT victory.
