Winterhawks Prospects Weekly 3/13-3/19

In this week's Winterhawks Prospects Weekly, a lot of players had their season end or are in the mdst of deep playoff runs. Soon some of the signed ones will be called up to provide some depth for the Hawks playoff run.
Friday, March 13th:
-Drafted/signed Goalie: Mike Bullion stopped 23 of 26 in his final regular season start; a 3-2 loss to the Amarillo Bulls. He has played in 23 games this year for the Wenatchee Wild, notching a season: 7-10-2 record, a 2.78 GAA and a 0.877 save %.
Bellows
Saturday, March 14th:
-2013 Bantam drafted Forward: Kieffer Bellows-(1998- Committed to Boston U.), notched a goal and an assist for the Sioux Falls Stampede in Friday's 3-1 win over drafted/signed forward Ethan Price's Lincoln Stars. Bellows has 28 goals and 14 assists for 42 points in 50 games, second on his team.
-College Freshman D-man Ryan Collins (1996-Drafted in the 2011 Bantam draft), scored his first goal of the season for the University of Minnesota, as they beat Penn State 6-2 and clinched the school's 4th straight Big Ten regular season title. They are now the top seed for the following weekend's Big Ten tournament.
-Protected list Forward Mitchell Mattson (1998-Committed to U of North Dakota), is already making his mark in the USHL as he notched his 2nd assist in 5 games with the Bloomington Thunder, in a 4-3 win over Muskegon.
-List Forward: Owen Sillinger (1997), whose Father Mike was traded to an NHL record 12 teams during his career, is the leading scorer for the Regina Pat Canadiens. Mike is the City's ambassador for Hometown Hockey and is the City's longest serving NHL players.

Sunday, March 15th:
-Signed/List Forward Austin Gray (1997), Listed D-man Conor McEachern  (1998) and the Cariboo Cougars swept their best of 3 series with the South Island Royals, meaning they will play for the BCMML Major Midget League Championship.
Dougherty
Monday, March 16th:
-Protected list D-man Jack Dougherty (1996) and the University of Wisconsin, ended their season suffering yet another loss; their 25th of the year  (4-25-3 overall). This is the first time Wisconsin has lost this much since the program was started in 1963.

Sunday, March 15th:
-Arizona Coyotes draft pick and Winterhawks protected list forward Jared Fiegl (1996) had a very forgettable Freshman season for Cornell, notching only 1 point in 26 games. Cornell also had their season ended after losing 2 straight playoff games to Union College. He should get more playing time next season for the Big Red.

Tuesday, March 17th:
-Drafted/signed Center Cody Glass (1999) scored the first goal for the Winnipeg Thrashers (Midget AAA), but they ended up losing the game 4: 4-2 and the series to the Brandon Wheat Kings 3 games to 1. Glass led his team in scoring with 55 points in 40 games. WHL teams often add some of their signed players after their team's season are over, so Glass is a possibility to joing the Hawks for the playoff run, purely as a depth forward and for him to experience the WHL playoffs. I would fully expect him to make thee leap to the WHL next season.
-Listed Forward Tanner Nagel (1997) had a goal for the Tisdale Trojans of the Sakatchewan Midget AAA in a 3-2 loss to the Battleford Stars. The loss means the two teams will play in an all or nothing Game 5 in the league Semis.

Wednesday, March 18th:
-Listed Forward: Quentin Shore (1994) is the middle of three brothers, who play hockey. The oldest: Drew now plays for the Calgary lames and Quentin hopes to do the same for the Ottawa Seantors, who drafted him. He is playing in the NCHC semnifinal against Miami U. this weekend.
-Listed Forward Luke Voltin (1995) had 2 assists for the Vernon Vipers as they won Game 4 and squared their BCHL semifinal series at 2 games apiece.
